Hi there – we write about kids activities, families and parenting. We had a lot of fun with our blog about dinosaur parties so we thought we’d take a look around for some great blogs on cooking with kids. After a scrumptious tour, we picked out 3 that grabbed us. Sure you’ll enjoy them as much as we did and have fun cooking up a Jurassic storm!! And when you’re done, if it’s whetted your appetite for all things dinosaur (or crystal) take a peek at our online shop.
Cooking with Kids: Mel’s Kitchen
Mel’s Kitchen is a well established food blogger with lots of experience of feeding a family with a wide variety of foods. Mel has a nice blog on planning practical tasks to give to kids when you are cooking – useful for those of us who dread the circus that can start up when those l’il people start joining in! But these bite size tasks are cleverly structured to build kids cooking skills whilst also helping you with the overall dish. Skills! Lots of recipes and tips in a variety of formats – and a side dish of blogs on running as well – go take a look!
Cooking with Kids: Great British Chefs
We also thought we’d take a look at the Best of British, as we love how food has transformed here over the last decade or two. We found a useful set of blogs on the Great British Chefs website. It includes recipes, safety, health and lots of ideas in a variety of fun, useable formats – with whole ‘how to’ sections in case you want to brush up on your own know-how before you start. We loved the healthy simplicity of these Starfish Cakes by Andy Waters – we’d have to try and make then with a chunky dinosaur cookie cutter – but that’s just us!
Cooking with Kids: Eats Amazing
We loved Eats Amazing for its simple ideas that are actually all about the kids. Whether you want easy party food, a quick, healthy snack, lunches that pack with a punch or ways to get your food phobic toddler into the game, you’ll find it here – and more! And even more on Facebook. The features really are easy to do but so appealing. We found these Minion sandwiches irresistible and might have to make some for lunch!
Back soon – in the meantime, follow on Facebook for more Family Fossil Fun
